Raz Chan
Author and World Renown Martial Artist
Raz Chan is a world renown 1st degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. With more than 40 years of martial arts experience, he helps kids discover their hidden superpowers through martial arts, empowering them to be confident and successful adults. He was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 50 Outstanding Canadians for his work in improving the lives of children and youth.
Raz has authored two books on personal development one of them with thought leader Brian Tracy. The Little Sammy Samurai series is his third project aimed at inspiring the next generation of successful kids. He has been appeared on major media outlets such as CTV, Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Magazine, and Canada’s Fashion Magazine.
He is currently the owner and head instructor at Gracie Barra New Westminster Brazilian jiu-jitsu, where he teaches students of all ages in the gentle art.
Eddie Moreno

Growing up in a single parent home, Eddie Moreno turned to martial arts as an outlet for his anxiety and anger. He has worked on major animation projects such as Duck Tales Remastered, Captain Underpants, and Midnight Gospel. Together with Raz Chan, Eddie is a co-founder of Resilient Kids for Life, launched to teach kids respectful ways to express themselves through martial arts etiquette.
Dojo Max
Actor and Cartoon Character
Dojo Max is inspired by Raz Chan’s beloved Yorkie dog. When not appearing in our books as the wise master of martial arts, he spends his time as a guest services greeter at a Brazilian jiu jitsu gym. He loves lots of treats and cuddles.
